Re: The Hobbit - Official Knives of Tauriel - United Cutlery

I do like them & considered adding them to my LOTR collection, but just cant bring myself to do it as the character was completely invented for the movies - dont get me wrong, loved the hobbit movies (not as much as LOTR but still pretty damn good) - but i love the books more & it just doesnt feel r...

Re: New site and forum now up

Hi Loz

Can we add the "More Info" button to the search results (search_results.php) - just makes it a little easier to grab product specific links.

Re: First time sword set suggestions ?

The stock answer you often get is the PK or PPK:

http://www.blades-uk.com/products.php?id=106
http://www.blades-uk.com/products.php?id=107 (Own this, 'tis a classic)

But as Mick says, a price range would be dandy!

Re: If wishes were knives.........

Would give my left nut for the UC High Elven Sword - the "ban" prevented me from completing my Lotr collection :(

"this" close to having Rob @ CastleKeep forge me one

Re: Origin of hanwei swords and japanese makes

Don't worry Mick, I'll forgive you :p This thread does raise an interesting topic though, (God forbid us loosing the older & wiser folk) - ensuring your collections go to people who'd truly appreciate & care for them must be tricky - my friends and family for instance think i'm mad - I can see my co...

Re: Engraved brass plaque finally arrives

Random related question:

Can the term 'daishō' be used for a matched triplicate? I.e. With Tanto - or is it only used for Kat + Wak?

If not, is their another term for a matched triplicate set?

Re: How can I sell my swords?

Hi there, Selling via the forum isnt allowed for obvious reasons (Age verification, checking the items in question are legal [the LOTR high elven sword for instance is no longer legal to trade in the UK]. Best way is to get BUK to sell them for you, to do so, give Lawrence a call on 01945 701022 The...

Re: 1st Time Buyer need help and advise

A bokken, Daito or Iaito would be far more practical if you are serious about taking up Iaido, self-taught or otherwise! If however your claim to learn Iaido is a little null & you just want to start chopping stuff up in your back garden (tameshigiri) - then this sword will more than suffice :) PS: ...

Re: Tensa Zangetsu - Anime Sword

I love bleach but was always confused by this curved version as zangetsu in bankai was always straight in the manga (and the anime if i recall) - that said, BUK did just add a straight version (labelled Kiyomasa for some reason) & they've another one on there labelled 9426 - both seem to be more acc...

I just declared them as collectables - as long as I retain proof of purchase and ownership they said its covered (increased my premium a bit though!)

edit: my contents is with PaymentShield

edit: this thread is really out of date! Need to ready a V3 at some point!

Re: Orcrist Sword (The Hobbit)

Remember the first time UC stopped making Glamdring - I panic bought one off ebay for £510 lol - only for them to start making them again a year or so later - sigh.
