Re: buks new katana,s

Hey there Blade Master, I noticed this one straight away as well and am very tempted to get it. Now I've got 4 blades I'm after, decisions decisions >.< Is it indeed folded steel? I couldn't really tell from the picture but if it is then even better. How prominent is the hamon by the way, I remember...

Kawashima Steel line, anyone purchased any?

Hi there, I've had my eye on some of the swords from the Kawashima Steel line for a while now, more specifically the ones in the Handforged section of blades-uk. The ones I've been looking at are two of the Handforged & Folded and the Handmade Shirasaya set http://www.blades-uk.com/large_pic.php?pro...

Maintenance Kit Cloth

Hello there, Just had a quick query. I've noticed sometimes that when using the white cloth that comes with the kit to put oil on that it sometimes leaves little fibres on the blade. They dissapear if you give another wipe, or brush them off so no problem, I was just wondering if they would be hazar...

Newly Added Katana Item

Hello again everyone, after seeing that I can now resume buying my swords from B-UK I was having a look around some of the new items which have been added. I noticed the Hand Forged and Folded Katana (D01) on this page :http://www.blades-uk.com/view_items.php?cat_id=158&start=160 The description see...

Tang Jian

Seems like there's lots of new nice stuff coming out in the newly added items section. Was just having a look at the tang jian they're advertising. To be honest I've never really took an interest in those styles of swords, but this thing looks really good so I'm deciding whether to save for it or no...

Roman Gladiator Helmet

Hi there, I was wondering if it's likely I'd have any chance of getting a replacement for an item. Unfortunately I don't have the original packing and I got it a few months back. It's still in the same condition I got it though, I've only been displaying it in my room. I was looking at the pictures ...

Quick addition to this,

If I'm displaying it vertically and the blade is facing in towards the stand, wont that put preassure on the blade against the saya, or will it not be enough to do any harm?

I've already tried phoning up b-uk :|

They said they're out of stock and would have to order more from america, which they don't want to risk at this late stage. Or something along those lines xD
Doesn't seem like there's any way of getting a good deal there :<

Yep darkness, tried about 5-6 different places I think. Phoned B-UK as well but they don't have any left and said they wont be getting more in. As for customs/deliveries charges etc, the cost of the actual blade after converting from dollars to gbp is roughly £240. And considering that the lowest I'...

I know exactly what you mean :D I bought the 300 Spartan helmet and got whacked with extra costs, as well as handling costs from the post depot xD I'm not too fussed about it this time though, the sword price itself is cheaper with the conversion rate, so any additional costs would only bring it up ...

Ordering from USA

Hello again, I've been going mental trying to find a tsunami katana to buy from the UK but every site I've been to is now sold out >.< I've found one but it's in America; I've used the site before to buy armour so I know it's a reputable place. I'm living in scotland and I'm wondering about customs ...

ooo, didn't know about it being displayed tsuka to the bottom, will need to remember that.

Also, I've managed to scrape another £200 together so it'll be a PPK going on the vertical one. Gonna get the black lacquered one for the Tiger.

Displaying sword vertically

Hello, I noticed on the sheet that comes with a katana that you purchase, that it says they should be stored horizontally with the blade facing up. I was wondering if there would be any problem with having one vertical instead. I've got this stand here: http://www.blades-uk.com/large_pic.php?product...
