That's all folks.

I hope you enjoyed it. I shan't be back, so if any of you have any comments, you know where to find me.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Au revoir, mes amis...

Chapter Fifteen Blackbird II hurtled through the night. Dr. Egg’s team exchanged glances as they heard the boom in the distance. “That’s it, then,” Daig said. “Maybe,” Dr. Egg said. “You think they’ll be back?” Bugsy asked in a small voice. “After this?” “I don’t know,” Dr. Egg said. He glanced out...

Chapter Fourteen Lord D looked around in surprise as the lights came on. He swore. “The blackout should have lasted another fifteen minutes!” he said. “We’re in trouble.” He stuck his head out of the window and looked around. No yanks were in sight. He ducked back inside. “Better get the weapons,” ...

Chapter Thirteen Monk brought Blackbird II into a hover a few feet above the ground. “Go!” Dr. Egg yelled at his team. They leapt out into the rotor wash and dashed away from the aircraft. Dr. Egg dropped to one knee and brought his MP5 up and scanned the horizon. Gaunt dropped down next to him and...

Chapter Twelve Lord D and Daig jogged down the corridor form the Armoury. They were laden with ammo tins and boxes, and both wore their swords at their sides. Their boots thumped on the concrete as they entered the airfield access tunnel. Ahead of them a gang of silents pushed a trolley with the Tr...

Chapter Eleven “Ok,” MD said, slapping a brown paper folder down on the briefing room table. “Intel on the yank base.” The staff eyed the folder. It had the Royal arms on the front and the legend “Most Secret” stencilled across it. “We’d better get the rest of the lads in here,” Lord D said. Once t...

Chapter Ten The surviving senior staff sat around the large table in the briefing room. MD sat at the head of the table, Monk to his right, BB on his left. Lord D sat next to BB, Conrad and Ex sat to Monk’s right. Dr. Egg sat to the left of Lord D. “We took up position and opened fire on the base a...

Chapter Nine Lord D led his section up the road to the main doors. Gaunt had Chaos over his shoulder and his 21E in his right hand. He held the machinegun like it weighed nothing. Elg floated along, seemingly tireless and making no sound; Daig and Nightshade stayed close together, rifles up. Lord D...

Chapter Eight “Are you sure you’ll be ok, Bugs?” Lord D asked, a look of concern on his face. He was dressed in Soldier 2000 combats, bought “surplus” from the UK government defence contractors. His webbing was festooned with grenades, and his G41 was slung on his shoulder. A Kevlar helmet hung by ...

Another apology

I'm afraid I won't be around to finish my latest Chronicle. I know some of you will be quite upset by that. I was very surprised when my first chapter was so well-received, and I've enjoyed writing these tales a great deal. That so many of you enjoyed reading them was, and still is, amazing. Thank y...
