It depends, if we take the best of the ancients, and the best of modern, modern would win, if we use the best of ancient, and the worst of modern, traditional would win. The traditional methods used by master blacksmiths would be equal to, or weaker than the strength of modern metallurgy, the trick...

what is really best?
so ive heard alot of stories that "real" katanas made by japanese blacksmiths should be alot better than carbonsteel, but is it really? cus 1060 carbon steel is pretty tough.

Scroll down the main blades uk page its on the left under all the categories. Two incentive things one if you spend over 40 and one if you spend over 80. and dont say because i told you ive been wrong before some sites i use arnt allways right the main uk importer says its 1045 the manufacturers site says somthing different so who is right??? all i can say for sure its folded steel i emailed Admin2@blades-UK.com and few days later i got an email bac...

Use plain rubbing alcohol (from the chemist, cheap) to remove the oil and yes, Blade Master is correct, that's WAAY too much oil. Clean it off and when you re-apply oil, put it on the cloth, not directly on the blade. Easier to control the amount. My rule of thumb is, if you can see the oil on the ...
