Re: ordering small knives from china

I've ordered knives direct from China with no problems. However I would not advise trying to import lock knives from overseas, unless you are fairly certain they have a design that holds the blade fairly strongly closed when in the closed position. Free swinging lock knives (an axis lock might be on...

Re: BUK Shingen Katana

Hi, Bit of a thread resurrection! I picked up one of these at the time and I remember some threads about how it was made and where it was made etc. Sadly I can't seem to find those threads :( Couple of questions if anyone remembers. 1. Where was it made. (Which forge) I know it was somewhere in Chin...

Re: Does 'fa jing' or chi really exist?

I completely respect that people have different points of view on these subjects and the original poster has now heard both sides and can make his own mind up. I have met a number of people who share your point of view, and if I have learnt one thing, it is that no matter what evidence or argument a...

Re: Does 'fa jing' or chi really exist?

A somewhat late answer to this thread ;) But yes it most definately does. I've studied Chi Kung for about 20 years. And have also practiced the energy development techniques used in Ba Gua, Hsing I and I Chuan. Anyone who has ever seriously studied an internal art will begin to experience chi within...

Have your say about sword and knife laws

Hi, The Government has launched a site asking for ideas as to which laws etc people would like to see changed. This is possibly a unique opportunity for those who enjoy collecting and using knives and swords for legitimate legal purposes to have our say. It only takes seconds to sign up to use the s...

Re: Wasp Injector Knife

Cool, thanks for the links ! Yes interestingly the picture in that article clearly shows the hole drilled lengthways through the blade. Thats bound to weaken it. Of course now the wonderful media have brought this knife to the attention of the greater uninformed public, I am sure they will be waitin...

Re: Wasp Injector Knife

Plus there is the fact that its FUGLY :> This is true ! I guess there is some sort of hole actually drilled lengthways through the blade to allow the gas to flow through. Thats bound to weaken the blade as well! Reminds me of those gas operated bottle openers where you push the needle through the c...

Re: Wasp Injector Knife

Which papers specifically ? I would be interested to read if you have a link. But lets be sensible: Knife costs: $379.95 Refillable Handle costs: $48.50 (so £214.80 in UKP) Box of 10 CO2 Cartridges costs about £7 Then you would have postage which is very high from the USA so lets say optimistically ...

Re: Wasp Injector Knife

If you read the information on the site, this knife was originally invented as a diving knife. (the bright day-glo handle kind of gives it away as a piece of safety equipment) Presumably if you got attacked by a shark it would be quite useful ! Yes they do claim "Tactical" applications, but having p...

Re: WE'RE BACK

That is absolutely fantastic news! I cant believe that the "Government" has made any concession towards the Martial Arts / Collecting Community whatsoever! It is truly amazing. Presumably the requirements for being a martial artist or insured re-enactor still stand. What other brands will be back on...

Re: history in the trunk

Sounds like an interesting bunch of stuff you have there. If it hasnt seen the light of day for so many years the thing to do is keep it in the dark. Particularly old photos! Old photos need to be kept wrapped in acid proof paper and in the dark as the chemicals used will often have degraded over ti...
