Re: New Segao

Going to leave it like that or attempt a knot?

(on that note, is there a term to describe the different styles of Sageo knot?)

Re: the twins

I dont own a single knife (apart from my everyday spyderco), this would be my first - mainly because i know nothing about them, but after seeing this thread bigging up the Down Und...

Re: Orcrist Sword (The Hobbit)

Hi there Im quite possibly the most prolific UC LOTR collector hanging around here these days (as you can tell from some of my collection here ) & I can confirm that the UC version sold by Blades-uk is "legit" - I've not had time to wall mount the Orchist but I do have some pictures from when I unbo...

Re: first purchase, advice needed

Hi Vjanda My apologies if you're already aware of this, but the "cutting ability" of the PPK as compared to these other mid range functional swords is rather inconsequential when it comes to the proportion of "ability" atoned to the sword vs the ability of the wielder (you). The success of a cut is ...

Size of CS Talwar & Shamshir relative to Katanas?

I've got myself a bit of a dilemma! I'm moving my Bushido Kat & Wak from my bedrooms 8-sword-stand (as shown here (picture is now out of date, also got the bamboo katana on there too) to a 2-sword stand downstairs in the living room - thus freeing up two free slots on my 8-sword-stand! Thing is, i d...

Re: Professional Viking Sword

Id imagine the tang is full yes - BUK wouldn't use the phrase "professional use" if it wasn't :) Not sure on length, but as for the imperfection pics, you dont need to login to facebook or even be a member to view the defect pics, just check out the latest posts here: https://www.facebook.com/blades...

Re: Fully Functional Swords + Folded/Tempered

The Chen PPK & Hanwei PPK are the same thing - Hanwei is just the company name of Chen Chao-Po (Paul Chen). And if you come across Casiberia - that's just the US distributer of Hanwei.

Re: My Bushido Daisho

The Kat Saya looks quite a bit darker than the Wak - is that just the lighting on the pic?

(Just curious as the color on mine is exactly the same)

Re: Which Japanese kabuto and mempo?

I've always prefered the first one - never liked the red one - looks like a prop from Flash Gordon & the 2nd one has a very weak appearance in my opinion :) (the antlers put me off I think)
