Re: Kit Rae Mithrodin sword?

Hi there With a curved blade of 22.75" (55.8cm) - it may well have fell victim to the 2008 / 2009 revisions to the offensive weapons act which banned all curved swords over 50cm that are not forged in a traditional manner - which kit Rae rarely (if ever?) are. Here is a little more information on th...

Re: deluxe folded rosewood katana

hi mell do you think the quality problems your on about cold be down to the prices that are charged for these katana,s as there will be differences between a £70 kat and its more expensive brothers in the £350 to £700 price range just an observation on my part not a dig at you what do you think Hi ...

Re: deluxe folded rosewood katana

Koto definitely do seem to range massively in quality – that Odachi I got a few months back was very poor – yet the bamboo katana I got this week is lovely – it’s a very odd quality control they have.

Re: Special Edition Bamboo Katana review

Well, my SE Bamboo Kat arrived this evening & i must say - it is a VERY lovely sword - my first with a clay temper - all my other swords are Chens (acid etched?) & the difference is blatant - was really quite surprised (and impressed)!

Re: Special Edition Bamboo Katana review

Same with the CAS Hanwei stuff - I have 4 of the Chen cleaning kits holding up my TV (so I could slide the blu-ray player underneath) – total overkill – apart from a little oil I’ve never needed any of the kits that come with swords. Saying that, the only Koto I’ve ever bought was that god awful (N)...

Re: Special Edition Bamboo Katana review

What about the production DVD - does that not mention it?

I did ask loz about this, his reply is as follows:
Loz wrote:Not sure which method they've used on this one as they haven't specified, would assume typical soft/hard wrap around rather than anything particularly fancy

Re: Special Edition Bamboo Katana review

They have same flowery nonsense on the Chen Bushido Kat & Wak Saya's – Unfortunately the flowers are under several mm of lacquer – so just had to learn to like them :) After emailing Loz this morning to find that there was only one Special Edition Bamboo Katana left- I ‘m afraid I had to snap it up ...

Re: Special Edition Bamboo Katana review

That’s awesome – I suppose the real question is this: now that Loz has added the rest of the premium koto ones onto the site yesterday – do you regret getting this one – some of the others are also very very nice – or would you still get this one? The Hand Painted Bamboo & the Brass Flower Katana ar...

Re: special edition bamboo katana

I don't think they're not maru. Is that a double-negative - as in; you think they are maru (which is your bog standard mono-steel construction?) or a typo and your confident they're not maru? Edit: just noticed you corrected your post - Would be interesting to see what type they are - deffo got my ...

Re: My Highlander Swords - Christopher Lamberts Visit

Never seen any of them, not even the first one - in fact i didn’t know there was more than one lol.

I've just "acquired" them all anyway, will watch the first one at weekend and go from there.
