Re: The police took my mates katana

I'm still struggling to see how it was a lawful seizure. It was hidden away outta sight and if the silly bint hadn't mentioned it to the plod then they would have known nothing about it. Its not like he was swinging it around or anything, in fact when plod arrived he was upstairs calmly packing his...

Re: The police took my mates katana

(1) The price of 10-20 glass front cases is simply unmanageable, the space they would take up is also a serious restriction. (2) It's "responsible" to wear a condom, and moderate drinking, but few people abide by these responsibilities. (1)... Thats no-ones issue but yours... You did, I assume, acc...

Re: The police took my mates katana

There is no legal requirement to store swords in locked cases, what's the point in owning a sword if you can't enjoy it? I see no point in locking them in an expensive, glass front, locking cabinet, on the off chance that the police may confiscate it. Theres no legal requirement, of course... But i...

Re: The police took my mates katana

Well if I am to buy a over priced locking stand then I should be locking up the knife block too, I think its a ridiculous argument, I come from an estate in west London, number of people killed by swords on the estate none, number shanked with kitchen knives probably at least 10 a year. Every kid h...

Re: The police took my mates katana

Just a couple of things; The local Police have visited my home several times over the past few years, nothing untoward, just neighborhood stuff, the have seen my swords & most of my knives, they have even handled a few of both, but they didn't know the difference between 'wall hangers/stainless ste...

Re: fenghuang katana

Cursory looks about the internet suggest its 1045. And most swords in that price point are either 1060 or 1045... So looks like 1045 is reasonable. I'm not sure about the manufacturer... But could it not be either depending on whats being used at the time? For a cheap sword, manufactured oversea's.....

Re: The police took my mates katana

Self defense Well, I gotta be honest... Im not sure that the 2 words "self" and "defence" are a reasonable arguement for the above. In fact, I dont believe it to be any arguement what-so-ever to ANY point... Its just 2 vauge words. But ok... In fact, looking through it... If you are implying owners...

Re: The police took my mates katana

What about my swords, they are mine, what if my boyfriend got shouting at me and the police where called, they are my swords not his they are on my side of the bedroom and in the kitchen. I'm not sure that "my side of the room" is a reasonable thing to use as a defence, that can be easily countered...

Re: The police took my mates katana

I think if something is confiscated, you need to pay for its retrieval. The police had no right to take it in the first place, as wtf has pointed out, they should have also seized kitchen knifes and anything that could be remotely considered "offensive" if they had real fears of violence. Well... T...

Re: The police took my mates katana

I've often wondered about this kinda thing after watching TV cop shows when they do a drugs raid on a property and nothing is found but they take all the stuff that they consider to be weapons even though they're not illegal to own. The interesting thing about that is... I never really look at thos...

Re: The police took my mates katana

Law may not state a good reason in terms of offensive weapons. But domestic violence law may play a part.... If the police believe that it could be used, or there was a credible fear of it being used, then it seems reasonable to take it. Although on the flipside, no kitchen knives were taken. The hi...

Re: erh could you spend a few seconds helping me?

hi froller i belive its folded steel rather than damascus but is easly confused for damascus (damascus or pattern welded steel as its known these days as very few if any persons know how to make damascus these days) Just to point out... Quite a few people still make damascus blades. And from very l...

I would imagine its just not a very well thought out review... Methinks the rating system may be open to some debate.
