Re: New Consultation to ban all swords

what about the exemption for a blade made with traditional forging methods, even if it is another country which emulates techniques from Japan, eg Dynasty Forge, Bugei etc? We can only hope. We have some time though before the death knell of October. It is sad and horrid for newcombers to the hobby ...

Re: New Consultation to ban all swords

I heard there will be an exemption to the samurai ban, if you can prove the sword you buy was made using traditional processes. I don't know if this is regardless of country of manufacture. Maybe Paul Chen and some other forges will make a certificate system. In any case, before the ban this is rumo...

part 2, a naginata cutting through a DFS desk, or even a tree :| in a homebase garden centre. It is a little irresponsible even if the clip is just 2 seconds imo.

paul chen ronin katana

I have this sword, and the blade is unsharpened for the first 3 1/2". Is this common to classic PC blades? My other tamahagane blade is just slightly thicker at the tsuba. Again thanks to members for their input.

got a tamahagane sword before ban

I am over the moon :D . I bought the Dynasty Daiymo is Turbulent wave. I will post some pictures later in the week. It will be great for display, and eventually for shinken practice after the sensei decides I am experienced enough. I was hit with a COD however.

tatami mats, accessories

after the coming ban, will there be good access to mats for tamashigiri, and also sword kits? hopefully there will. what some dojos do, is club together to buy 18 or so mats, for a session.

killed by a "tanto", teenager "knifed". it appears almost all knife crime is done using a short blade. therefore this ban seems idiotic.

Re: Chen, Cold Steel - last chance

all we can do is stockpile before the ban. I genuinely feel sorry for collectors though, you see they won't even get a BKA licence as a proviso after the ban. Again a great sword is as dangerous as a curved sword, if it's high quality.

Simon that is vicious, sorry you had a break in. Just can't believe you were charged in reality, when you were just defending yourself. Ya know, it's just an atrocious situation.

Re: All curved Swords to be banned

Someone will go out and commit crimes with a brick hammer or two, attatched to chains the attached to a heavy wooden handle with pommel. then all brick hammers will be banned, and all builders and construction firms will be furious.
