Re: My Stuff

I'd guess the trust bit :D (I wouldnt send it)

The simplest solution is to make a mould from wood or similar using your measurements. Should take about 2 or 3 weeks (got an arrow quiver to make first)

Re: My Stuff

Ideally I need to mould it to the weapon but understand you are taking a huge risk sending to an unknown person, besides parcel force have a habit of losing stuff too. I know what you mean by no harness and I can stamp the berreta emblem or sew it on. All the examples you've posted are ok to make, d...

Re: Kit rae request

Most stable timbers are ok for sayas and scabbards. Red elm tends to be difficult to work with because of its cross grain. Looks nice when stained though.

Re: My Stuff

Found my BB gun and did this for it (90% complete) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71991644/IMAG0379.jpg Now some notes. This was cold wet moulded and baked. Its only 2mm leather, which isnt really thick enough (its all I had left). It retains its form when the gun is withdrawn but it is ultimately too soft...

Re: My Stuff

Geordie

I could make a holster, I have a bb gun somewhere around the house. I will make one for it and post it here. It will give you an idea how it could look. If you like it, I would be happy to offer you a quote.

Here is a heavy duty frog made from 5mm and 4mm leather, custom made for european long swords or similar. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71991644/IMAG0376.jpg With a Tinker Pearce Great Sword attached. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71991644/IMAG0372.jpg This design is bog standard. Re: My Stuff

Here is a custom scabbard for a JB Edward 1st sword. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71991644/IMAG0306.jpg Note the off centre grip, typical iffy John Barnett quality. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/71991644/IMAG0307.jpg This photo below shows the adjustable harness. I made it so the owner can change belts or with...

Re: JB Sword advice

are there any decent but affordable alternatives? There are always alternatives if you shop around. I dont want to steer anyone away from the Blades-UK store so I will just say that you cant go wrong with a Hanwei. Consider an Agincourt, River Witham or Chen War sword for £100. I have a War sword a...

JB Sword advice

Ever wondered why John Barnett doesnt make scabbards for all his swords? It's because more often than not they have badly forged boomerang shaped blades. Some of you have left positive comments on the scabbards I've made so far, so thanks for that but it wasn't easy making them. I'm posting this bec...

Re: My Stuff

I'm glad you've sorted it G.

There are more scabbards on the way one is a saya, which will be a carved gold dragon on black. The other is a scabbard for an Edward 1st sword which as its a kings sword will have some guilded parts and detailed inlays. I will post finished work here.

Would that be the beast you have in your collection? What do you have in mind Ross? Just leather, wood core, any metalwork.
