Re: home thing

First of all, I said you "acted" liked spoiled juveniles.
Not that you were, unfortunately, I know you are adults, which makes it sadder.
Not going to say anymore, as the posts above just proved my point.

Re: home thing

Mel, Being a mod on a gaming forum and being a mod on a sword forum is two different things. Playing video games and discussing swords are different subjects to be addressed differently. Very few moderators don't even know the role a moderator is supposed to play on a forum. Mick is behaving as a mo...

Re: home thing

goose, You wouldn't have to worry about geordie burgularing your Nihon-To. All your katanas are displayed properly. He wouldn't be able to figure out which ones were the Nihon-To! ROFLMAO!! BTW, goose is lying. Unless you were a kid, any adult breaking into his home would be finished. They would nev...

Re: Photos Of Kill Bill Sword as promised

Since you are now entering the world of Japanese swords, you should know there is a certain etiquette (reiho) to displaying a katana (proper way of display) The katana should be displayed blade up, tsuka (hilt) to the left of the blade while displayed on a katana kake (sword stand) while still sheat...

Those aren't sinkholes. Those folk down in Florida went and opened the Gates of Hell. Look at those pictures of that guy's house! Talk about "Drag me to Hell"! Remember that guy a short while back they caught chowing down on a homeless man's face under a bridge? Yep, Florida. Shot him multiple times...

Re: Try tying one of these when the sageo is...

Just a word here. You should invest in a awl (looks like a icepick) to line up tsuka with katana ana (hole) or use chopsticks to line them up. (awl works better) You shouldn't have routed the hole out bigger, if later you get a rattle in your tsuka, you will now know why. Also since you didn't menti...

Re: RIP Alvin Lee

There's a name from the past... used to listen to Ssssh a lot when I was at school ~ great album. Another rock legend gone from the world. You have the advantage of me Sir - I was married with a 2 week old son when Woodstock was going down and my interest in music went on hold when 2 daughters and ...

Mick, Everybody always forget about the stickies. I would assume many noobs don't even know what a stickie is? Although Moon is right, always direct the noobs to the stickies as they are they best overall and comprehensive answer. Speaking of cleaning your sword with alcohol though, goose told me he...

Re: Yet Another Newbie

Would you suggest a solvent-based cleaner Dot? Actually you just helped me prove a point here. ;) What I was worried about was, hexO wiping his sword down with alcohol thinking he cleaned it to stop it from rusting. The impression I got from his answer. He makes no further mention of then oiling or...

Re: Yet Another Newbie

To apply any kind of alcohol to a blade will remove "all" oils from the blade, as well as other substances. If you clean any blade in this manner (except stainless) you had beter immediately apply a new layer of oil or similar preservative or this will cause oxidation (rust) In other words, don't cl...

This is one of them "Where were you back then?" moments.
To live in interesting times.
Probably music's brightest hour.
Never before or nothing since, has been as interesting or enthralling.

Do you know why they do this? BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!! This is one way of the many, the government controls you. This is any government, not just the UK. Do you think they care about you complaining on the Internet or sending them a e-mail, which they will probably delete after never reading, along with...
