This is true... You could on the other hand use it without breaking it and you wouldnt have to regrind it every time you looked at it funny and it decided to punish you by bluntening. lol

Re: Small knives

PS is that "heron" design a bit close to a push knife?
Close... But not actually. You gotta love a good technicality. Interestingly... Im not entirely sure its illigal to own one anyway. Buy, sell, carry, yes... But not own.

Re: For those interested... Bench grinder design.

I was only asking if you had a CNC machine because you have that expensive software, I thought that type of software goes hand in hand with a CNC You use the same program with the water jet cutter... Just not the 3D component of it. And yeah, borrowing the Uni machine... If you had your own files t...

Re: For those interested... Bench grinder design.

Ha... You just buy one... Not cheap, but still... Any reasonable machine will cut a LOT of material... Ours can cut about 100mm thick material to a tolerance of about 0.3mm on a fast cut. You can get machines to cut stuff about 30mm thick with a accuracy of nearer 0.05mm if you take your time.

The box section is all off the shelf and has been cut manually. Ill use the mill to face off the surfaces so everything is square and dimensionally correct. All the spacers internally are mild steel "polo mints", made up on a lathe. The spacers (externally) will be ally, the complex shapes... In fac...

And I was only saying that in practical circumstances, the everyday practitioner won't notice any difference in strength when cutting light targets :014 I dont think anyone will notice... You cant feel a difference in the yeild strength of steel by swinging it about. Im just saying that all things ...
