I think its lovely.

And then there was 3, well you know me endlessly moaning about boring black sayas, never seen anything like that before so I've decided to give it a punt, bet I could sell it on easy if I don't like it without it hitting my pocket, I know loads of anime/otaku freaks.

yeah it looks awesome but I've made a promise to myself not to buy any more swords unless a shoshu kitae katana comes around, that brass flower katana looks great as well, the temptation is strong :|

It is laminated, just not soshu kitae, I think its kobuse? But the steel isn't folded, but the hamon more than makes up for the lack of folded steel.

Tatami is like a straw/grass material, wouldn't make a good saya.
The bamboo pieces are lacquered so.... Its going to have a smooth finish if that's what you mean?

I've seen bamboo tatami I've got some placemats in that( I'm assuming you mean the fine stuff because bamboo is a grass) I'm hoping it looks like that because its hard to see in the picture.

Basically I'm hoping that you can clearly see its bamboo and that its not cut and layed in such a why that it just looks like wooden decking.

He he he, if he puts up a fine red one I might buy two.

Yes I know I moaned about spending too much but that was only because I like to keep my bank account above a magic number, which it is right now and i've got 700 here in notes that needs putting in the account and everythings done and nothings going to be coming out of it for awhile.

My mum uses my credit card to buy holidays and gives me the cash... thats why I'm not allowed to have my credit card address changed to where I actually live  , she's gonna be in poland for my sons birthday, she was in India when it was my birthday such a great mum.
