Whereabouts do you live, Short Recoil?

Books by:

Masaaki Hatsumi and Stephen Hayes are good starting points, but I would not recommend learning any martial art at home. Ninjutsu has a certain 'flow' to it that you really need a qualified teacher to show you. It will be really difficult to understand the subtleties of the art, such as distancing, movement and avoidance when training by yourself.

Avoid any books by Ashida Kim like the plague!

I'd happily travel to Manchester for a class.

I just found out they now have a dojo at the college I went to. Damn shame they didn't when I was there or I would have been able to keep up my studies instead of trying other types of arts. You know what they say about the jack of all trades!

Thank you very much frodocious, i've just sent an email to get some more info.

Hopefully this should turn out to be reasonably close and good (proper training area, good teacher, lots of student etc)

Short Recoil and The Haggis, if neither of those dojos are of any use, let me know and I will try to find something closer to you.
