Kit Rae Mithrodin sword?

Postby BK80 » Wed May 15, 2013 10:14 pm

Hi guys. I'm a new collector, i've always loved the aesthetic beauty of bladed weapons, especially fantasy and oriental weapons. I recently discovered Kit Rae's "Sword of the Ancients" collection but i'm having a lot of trouble finding one piece in particular. the Mithrodin Sword. I think it's a stunning piece and i would love to have one in my fantasy blades collection but i simply cannot find it in the UK.

Does anybody have any ideas where i might find one?

Thanks ;)

Hi there

With a curved blade of 22.75" (55.8cm) - it may well have fell victim to the 2008 / 2009 revisions to the offensive weapons act which banned all curved swords over 50cm that are not forged in a traditional manner - which kit Rae rarely (if ever?) are.

Here is a little more information on this: ... /article/2

a sword with a curved blade of 50 centimetres or over in length; and for the purposes of this sub-paragraph, the length of the blade shall be the straight line distance from the top of the handle to the tip of the blade.”.

And again a few months later: ... cle/2/made

to show that the weapon in question was made before 1954 or was made at any other time according to traditional methods of making swords by hand.”.

You could ring BUK to confirm - I had the same problem with the High Elf LOTR piece:

Semper cogitatio.
