are maintenance kits always cheap rubbish?
I just got my bushido wakizashi, after all the benefits fuss I dicided sod it buy what I like, he's found a job with a 3 contract, we are getting housing benefit now, still haven't sorted out the tax credits and I've had enough of arguments on expensive phone lines, I've decided to write to em when he gets his first payslip, I'll send them a copy of it and a copy of his JSA claim and how much that was. We get no tax credits at all now and they claim we owe them £30 which is rubbish.
Anyway so now things seem ok at the mo and we now know you get penalised for having savings, and is redundancy pay has come through and its more then was expected, I finally decided to buy something special.
I won't review the bushido waki I'm sure its already been covered but, the maintenance kit tho more generous then that supplied with the koto branded ones (big bottle of oil, shim, nice paper sheets, bigger powderball etc) is in a broken box that needs glueing, cheapo wood, like pallets at a market stall. I was just wondering has anyone actually ever bought a maintenance kit and do the individually bought ones come in proper wooden boxes that look good on display or are they the same cheapo stuff?

I've got 3 of em now, 2 are broken and need glueing, this one turned up broke the other fell apart within a few openings. All the same cheapo wood, they are born duds.

Ge grateful, you never used to get them free with Chen stuff.

Hmmm given the choice I'd rather they provide a better box rather than a cardboard one and kit, who uses those things anyway? The only useful bit is the oil

I do. The powder ball is the perfect abrasive to get sh*t off your sword.

I thought they left tiny scratches?
I just clean em with a muslin square and alcohol, then wax em.
