Post by Big Lazy » Thu Oct 07, 2004 2:01 pm

Guys may I bring your attention to the Glamdring letter opener

Image

Now I have no interest in letter openers but the case it comes in looks loverly.

Can you imagine what full size cases would look like? Imagine the full size Glamdring displayed in such a way.

Hmmmm I know I'd buy one

Indeed I've heard she is very talented with wood in her hand :kiss1:

Looking at it though it wouldn't be that hard to make. essentially its a deep picture frame with a door on it. I've got a framers near to me so I might pop in with this pic and get a quote on making one

I've posted this pic on another thread somewhere but its basically the same thing

But glass is a real b*tch to post, Ied prob do em cheeper with perspex. Display cases can be as easy or as difficult as you like to make, a really simple one with no proper joints and just some nails n glue holding the lot together is quite simple, a really nice one with strong dovetail joints and a nice finish is a bit more difficult :-D
If anybody is interested then feel free to drop me a line.
