Total War: Shogun 2

Postby Big Lazy » Mon Apr 21, 2014 1:44 pm

Anyone play this? I'm not a PC gamer but this game has got me intrigued. Just take a look at it and I'm sure it will peak your interest too, if only for the sword porn ;)

Little ant sized people on massive battle fields, its just a real time strategy game, normally the total war series is the roman empire.

not played it but watched that one being played a bit a few years ago at work.

The collectors edition is currently selling for £80 but I found the german version for just £35 so couldn't say no at that price, especially considering all the goodies you get in. The Takeda Shingen figurine and art book look awesome

Arrived today and its a very nice package indeed. I know I'm new to PC gaming but this is a wee wee taker. All that's on the retail discs is the Steam account installer. You then have to download the game from Steams servers.... all bastard 15GB of it. Why the feck isn't the game on the actual retail DVDs? To be honest I didn't really want a Steam account either.

Thankfully you can select English

Cost 15gig is a lot, that's like 4 dvds I think maybe more, they wouldn't put a pc game on a bluray because alot of PCs don't come with bluray players and altho its segas biggest seller outside Football manager PC is still a very small market, plus it's probably an anti piracy thing.

I never thought of that but now it makes sense that we all had to login to steam to test Alien vs Predator even though the game was installed from discs onto all the PCs (I used to work for sega) I guess they might do it with all their PC games?

Glad you can select English, as for 'Steam', I cannot write m6 opinion of them, I'd be banned for life for using language that bad!

I can see me deleting the game in the not too distant future. I like games that are fun, this thing is like watching paint dry.

I have to agree with LW, Bushido Blade was a great game, unlike a lot of combat games it required some skill. :D

Had them all when I was living the life of a jolly pirate during the gaming days. Fancied something a little different, but this game makes bugger all sense. Might have to install it on the desk top and try it there. As for the lap top it was hopeless.
