What's that weapon?

Postby Geordie Ross » Wed Feb 29, 2012 3:13 pm

Hi folks, ive been trying to remember the name of a throwing weapon that was banned by its creator in ancient times, it's shaped a bit like the nazi swastika but it has a handle? Does anyone know what it is?

I think it's ancient Greek/roman and I'd know it's name if I could get a pic lol

Sounds like an African Trombash from the description to me.

Nah Ive seen them, they look fairly similar except it's more symmetrical and curved and was thrown horizontally like a boomerang, I know it was banned by its creater or at least restricted?

Ok, I made a feeble attempt at a sketch of it and this is what it (vaguely) looks like
(The right angles are slightly more curved and razor sharp)

Nah it wasn't a variant of those African mambeles. I seen it on a documentary years back and I'm sure it's Greek/Persian and the people who made it banned it from being used by their military because it was "too brutal" or something along those lines

Nope I've seen them, they are the african ones, it's alot more "symmetrical" so to speak and had like....razor right angles along with the spiked blades and spiked handle, and I'm fairly sure it's either Greek or middle eastern :| can't find it anywhere

Maybe you'd have better luck searching for the documentary :S
