Dangerous Goods WTF

Today my wife had a parcel returned by Royal Mail with an explanation of why it was opened, some items removed, destroyed and finally the package returned. Seems she sent dangerous goods through the post...nail varnish! Yep a tiny bottle of nail varnish for her mum in Slovakia is considered a risk to Royal Mail staff and its customers. This has sadly caused me to cancel my Lutel order, I won't run the risk of shelling out £400 for a custom made sword only for UK nanny police to destroy it in the name of health and safety.

It's all in the small print of Royal Fail...

*We reserve the right to refuse any other item banned by law or that in our opinion may be harmful or dangerous to our customers or employees. If you send dangerous goods and do not comply with the applicable terms and conditions and legal requirements then we may deal with the goods as we see fit including destroying or disposing of the relevant goods.
I've read that custom knife makers are now forced to use private couriers to ensure delivery to customers and the same may apply to imports but I'm not stating that as fact.

Royal Mail belongs to the Government under grant of 'The Crown' I believe, which probably accounts for people who get paid £50k+ per annum for stating the feckin obvious...
Counterfeit currency, bank notes and postage stamps

Write a massive email of complaint, I guess all that birthday cash relatives have sent me in cards over the years must have been dangerous goods too eh?

What a load of testicles.you know what else is testicles last time I imported a game 26 quid, it turned up with a customs sticker on it, they wanted 3 quid fair enough, but pissing royal mail wanted an 11 quid handling fee, they didn't get it but still load of testicles

An email will be sent lone wolf and a request for them to refund the £11 postage my wife paid. What bugs me is, the package was well padded with absorbent material and bubble wrapped. Ok the bottle wasn't enclosed in a plastic bag but FFS it was only a 5ml sample. Next will be a ban on envelopes through fear of paper cuts.

Do you know why they do this?
BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!!
This is one way of the many, the government controls you.
This is any government, not just the UK.
Do you think they care about you complaining on the Internet or sending them a e-mail, which they will probably delete after never reading, along with thousands of others.
No, has no effect.
Send a real letter, harder for them to ignore.
Now if you would have sent a bottle of Abdul's Death to Infidels After Shave, it probably would have got thru.
Why?
Because minority groups know how to play the system.
Normal folk are too lazy or complacent to really organise and complain.
The government knows this.
If Balian here was a Muslim, he and his whole family would of written actual letters complaining. Then a bunch of them would of protested in front of the main Post office with signs, shouting slogans of persecution. Making sure the media would know they were there.
Government gets scared of the attention.
This is how minorities get what they want.
Normal people would never do this.
Maybe it is time they should.
Governments really only want to control all the normal folk.
They are chipping away at all your rights daily.
They could care less about minorities in reality.
They just use minoritie's actions, to take away your rights, not theirs.
It's your rights they want!
Once they take away all of YOUR rights, it will be easy to take theirs.
Welcome to the New World Order.

Indeed, the western world is overdue a revolution, and history dictates that violent revolutions are the most successful, in short until you set fire to the post office, nothing will change. Viva la revolution :014

The question is how did they know it wasn't in a plastic bag before they ripped it open, I know someone who used to work for them they have xrays for passing suspect parcels thru, of course the only suspect parcels that get put thru it are those they suspect has something worth nicking, hence there uncanny ability to intercept cash, the metal strip in notes shows up, a plastic bag inside bouble wrap would not.
