if you are after a neck knife I can recommend one called the dogfish from bucks
and its all steel ive one and its a handy little knife to have and its perfectly legal
to carry (I belive because the blades under 3 inches and a fixed blade)
(this is my belief so I may be wrong)

The maximum length for a fixed or folding locking blade is 1 inch and 3 inches for a folding non-locking - knife unless you can show good reason for carrying one in a public place.

I'd have thought soft wood rather defeated the object........................

I thought it didn't matter how long the blade is if you have no excuse for carrying it, you should be just carrying a swiss army multi tool thing or something similar.

I'm not particularly interested in neck knives I just like things that look nice and or interesting.
