Seconded and buy the best you can afford and really like..

Quality is always better than quantity...to me anyway. ;)

Go for a decent Paul Chen, Cold Steel, Ryumon or Shinken Katana ASAP.

Don't Bother with the Musashi or Mashiro Katanas unless thats all you can afford.
