Nah i really haven't got the time to do something like that
But getting another saya isn't as hard as you'd think, BLADES-UK sell spere PC Pratical Katana Pro Saya,
Give it a little time and they might sell others.

ah..
as for the saya, the Practical range is a disposible set of equiptment... their made on a buget, for beginers, and get abused... this includes their saya... so its a sound idea for hanwei to make replacements. and even those cost quite a bit.
for them to make a replacement saya for the kami (or any other) they'd have to sell as many, AND get the same volume of requests for replacement scabbards, because people kept breaking them.
then, they'd have to convince people that their higher priced (due to the higher standards) scabbards are worth it... all this is is saying nothing, of the fact that the blades will be different, and so will the scabbard.
writing off a practical saya is nothing, if its the wrong shape... taking a folded blade, saya, with all its extra work, and better materials would be bad buisness, when it came to the point where you'd have to scrap some.
if they were to sell as many tigers, as practical katana... and the owners were to break themn at the same rate..... THEN you'd have a replacement saya.
untill then, you'll have to make one. it takes about 8 hours. plus painting... about 3 more, if your slow..... 11hrs total.

RE: Custom Katana
Im a lot happier with the sword since i changed the tsuba, all i want to do is customise the saya to look a bit like a kami saya (but not the same colour of course)
with the black binding around the saya and the sago over it
As the sword is 2nd hand it has some slight cracking in the laquer from the mouth of the scabbard to the end of the sago (just around the top of the scabbard) I only wanted the kami saya so that i could reverse engineer some of the parts into my saya,
Im NOT changing the origional saya at all i realy don't have the time to do somthing like that.
Oh and by the way Darksun_uk, i realy love you sai blades especially the PC Practical Ninja one!

RE: Custom Katana
THANK THE MAKER
Someone knows what i'm talking about!!!!!
Yes i want to try & find a wrap for my katana to cover up the minor laquer damage its just that i might have to put a Koiguchi (Scabbard Mouth) on the saya so the wrap dosen't look silly & bulked out and a Kojiri (Scabbard Pommel) just to keep the theme going.
And if i get that done my katana will be as sound as a pound and i will post up some picks.
just one more thing dose any one know how to bind that sort of wrap?

RE:
Just incase anyone was wondering, the new tsuba is the Summer Orchid Tsuba "Antiqued" Finish
It wasn't too hard to fit and only required a bit of fileing, And it gose very well with the Bushido colour scheme
