Working with pewter

Rite im wondering how hard is it to work with pewter i understand theres diffrent types i'm just wantin the bog standard, i've read its pretty simple to make a mold and simply pour it in, i am making a weapon more for somthing to do rather than use. Any advice on where to buy pewter craft shop etc..... or any advice atall would be great.

Pewter is basically like lead to work with from what I hear, never bothered with it meself so cant say from experience. As fer were to get it try re-enactor websites some of em supply materials fer people to make their own kit .
