I've done my first mod on my hand forged bride katana and changed the menuki's for the right one's (which are now on the correct side's of the tsuka), this took me about 15 minuites to do and luckally It didn't requier me to unbind and rebind the tsuka (i just managed to carefully slide them in).
The funny thing is the new menuki's seem to have better hold on the tsuka than the old ones.
Next on the agenda is just to clean the detailing on the saya.
OK now onto Phase 2.

I'm about 66% of the way through phase 2 but i've gotta leave it a day or two to make sure the paint is 100% dry.

Yes BB, Thats why i'm gonna have to give it some time, Japlac can be a little tempramental sometimes.
Anyway the saya's almost done, I just have to give it about 48 hours to completly dry then a quick polish.

Apologies for the thread zombieing but I've just got my Bride and I've got a coulpe of questions:
First off: any pictures of the finished article?
Where did you get the new menuki from?
Is it hard to re wrap the tsuka? I'm thinking of putting black cotton on mine- accurate or not I prefer the look and feel of the cotton ito.
Thanks
