Hi

I have moved this topic from reviews to diyas it was getting a bit confusing, what you see is the sword kissaki as I reshape it. The top pic is it right out of the box with a brushed kissaki with no change of geometry, the next pic is of the rough grind and then on to tne final pic is of a correct kissaki. It is still in need of a final polish with a fine water stone. This enhances the blade no end and it makes it look like a more expensive blade.

Kind of looks a bit like mix between a chu-kissaki and a ko-kissaki

It's different I'll say that, I don't know enough about the different styles to comment further, am I right in saying you also mentioned creating an 'salt-water hammon'?
I'd love learn how you'd go about doing that, :D

Here are 2 pic,s one is of the blade with candle wax ready for etching and the other is of the blade with the fake hamon after cleaning. The good thing about salt water etching is it,s safe, cheap and you can ajust the amount of salt in the water so you get a deeper or shallow etch.
