Im gonna whack a picture up of my first display with my Monkey katana, i also have the mammen viking axe no idea where to put that one lol

and blademaster will be happy to see that the tsuka is now to the left.

very nice indeed i do like the supports now as for an idea where to put the axe there is one lols just kidding :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
get a rack that holds 8 then you,ll have an excuse to buy the other 7

out of interest blademaster, do you have any good/ can recommend Napoleonic style sabres?

just wondering if their was a way round the sword ban to get one

i only ever had one european sabre that was one made john ghill singh not a particulaly quality one
wouldnt mind the cold steel napolien sabre tho you,ll have to look up there u.k. site for the info about it.

Hi guys just bought this pretty cheap from the US its dated 1870 so my question is how best do you look after older blades? and does anyone have one of these?

Nice piece looks like a genuine antique cavalry sabre, is it nepoleonic or us civil war? did you get paperwork with it?
As for care, if the sword is in good condition no loose parts or serious rust ect your out of the woods, just keep it clean dry and oiled up with sword oil u get I'm maint kits, you may need to invest in some sword wax available on b-uk site ;)

Im affraid it isnt a cavalry sabre although i am looking high and low for one.

What it is is an model 1866 Chassepot yataghan sword bayonet to fit the Gras rifle. im not sure about paperwork but it does have a rather clear date stamp and has the Chatellerault armoury number stamps.
