I can make sheaths but again I would need the knife to custom fit it and it would also depend on the design. If its for outdoor use you'll need a kydex liner and leather or if the knife wont be subjected to water, just leather (4mm) would do.

I would have thought most bowie and khukuri knives come with a sheath.

And I might add there are loads of sites on the web that make sheaths, most with good reputations. I however, need to build up my rep, so best thing to do is that I post further work here for you to make a judgement.

How much would it cost to commission you to make a reenforced leather scabbard for my cold steel two handed greatsword?

Would that be the beast you have in your collection? What do you have in mind Ross? Just leather, wood core, any metalwork.

Yea it's the one from my collection lol I have a idea in mind with push buttons on small straps to hook over the parry guards similar to a kit Rae sheath I have thats just a bit too small lol, I'll take some pics of the sheath and parry guards to show you what I mean, and instead of just wrapping it, make two templates and a rubber/leather strip between, if you know what I mean?
I'll upload the pics to show you what I mean in about 20 mins mate

Ahh well...Erm....   :|
I've just realised that the kit ray sheath had a slight "obstruction" half way down the sheath where it narrows, I've managed to remove it and now the sheath fits literally perfectly lol
Ohh well I'm sure I'll want one of your sheaths at some point, Ive got a lotr hadafang that's needing a sheath too, apparently you can buy the sheath seperatly but I can't really find a uk site with them, but I really like the sheaths you make some I'm torn into two minds

I'm glad you've sorted it G.

There are more scabbards on the way one is a saya, which will be a carved gold dragon on black. The other is a scabbard for an Edward 1st sword which as its a kings sword will have some guilded parts and detailed inlays. I will post finished work here.

Here is a custom scabbard for a JB Edward 1st sword.

Note the off centre grip, typical iffy John Barnett quality.

This photo below shows the adjustable harness. I made it so the owner can change belts or with some fiddling, wear it as a back scabbard. Basically there are three straps fitted to a 42mm belt via two frogs. The user then buckles them to the scabbard and can adjust the height and angle to suit.

I have a knife sheath nearly finished. Also I have a custom made fantasy bow underway and starting a leather cuirass after that. I will post them here if anyones interested.

Something else from my shed. A simple dagger sheath with leather cord stitching and belt loop.

balin hi
i know the knife is needed to make the sheath but
if you were sent the original sheath would you be able
to use that as a copy as im somewhat loath to send
the knife (in my case the khukuri) in case of loss or damage
by the royal mail what im after is one like the picture as the
belt loop is tearing the leather at the back of the sheath
just two crappy aluminium rivets holding it together thats
what tearing the leather apart plus its probably cheap sh*tty
goat skin which dont help at all so something stronger and better
would be better say 4mm thick
cheers mick
if you could send me a rough cost that would be great
heres a pic of whats needed
