Postby B.wallace » Wed Nov 20, 2013 7:39 pm

Hey People im kinda new here and proper struggling to choose my first sword!!
I like the look of the "Yamabushi Blue Katana" but whats your views on it? Is it any good/built?
I know it says Sharpened but is it a functional sword or just a wall hanger?
Also does anyone know if it is Full tang, double pegged?
Cheers!! :D

hi
to cut a long answer short
yes its functional
yes its double pegged (as all modern production kats are)
yes its worth the money
yes you,ll like it so buy with confidence (of all the blades ive bought from bucks and that's quite a few ive only had one minor gripe (the blade looked a bit on the delicate side for my tastes it was a bowie not a katana)
now the blade is factory sharp but (whats sharp to one person could be blunt as a butter knife to another)

Hi there
I have had a few katana from blades uk and I have found them to be good for the money I paid, especially a foulded blade katana I purchased. I tend to find that they could be sharper out of the box so to speak so I polish the blade (sharpen) to suit myself, if you have some experience of iaido then you my need to polish the blades but not by much.

Ahh brilliant :D
dont know why this one caught my eye so much, think it must be because the colour is different than the average black katana's.
thanks for the info peeps :)
