Postby froller2 » Tue Aug 06, 2013 1:02 pm

as some of you know i ordered the fenghuang katana few days ago (it should arrive around friday)
but i was trying to find some extra info about it , and i stumbled apon a site.
on that site the sword was only 1045 carbon steel, but i was informed by blade master that it should be 1060 so which is it? 7878

Not sure, most of the low to mid range katanas from koto are between 1045 and 1060, maybe 1055, I don't know.

Unless you're going to use it to cut bamboo or bone, the difference will be negligible.

Well that should be fine, as long as the tatami mats don't have a hard core material in the centre. Also, be careful, sloppy cuts can damage the blades edge and bad cuts can warp the blade.
