Can't answer for LW but one thing that they did get right in that prog' is that many Samurai were not as honourable as some would like us to believe, changing sides was not uncommon among clans even during battle if things weren't going too well and as in the show, stealing heads for prosperity or financial gain was not beneath some, homosexuality and paedophilia were both commonly accepted practices too, so the prog' wasn't complete crap although it wouldn't have been possible for a peasant to become Samurai but others of higher social standing did occasionally but this was extremely rare, 'The Last Samurai' movie was very loosely based on true events involving a French sailor in reality.conner wrote:
