Customizing a PPK

Post by darkhobo » Sun Dec 16, 2007 7:57 pm

hey guys, I've had my PPK for a while now and I would like a project for over my christmas break, so I think I'm going to try my hand at playing with saya colors. Never having done this before, I have a couple of specific questions and then any and all advice is welcome.
First off, do I need to sand it down to the wood?
What do I do about the plastic ends on the saya when I sand?
What colors look good? :D
Thanks

Good news on Koshirae, You'll still be able to import it after the ban.

Thanks a bunch guys, I think I have everything I need to get started now, except one last question.
What did you guys do about the plastic pieces at the end of each side of the saya. It would scatch if you sanded them, did you just cover them with tape and sand carefully? or can you pop them off somehow?

Mask Em up and sand around em because if you leave em black it make the saya look way more authentic.
