A little Advice

Post by Pip68 » Sun Mar 16, 2008 11:45 pm

Hi everyone I have a question am thinking of getting the JGS Falcata, I have a Falcata now but on reading one of my books it seems that the one I have with a horse headed hilt was what the Iberian Celts used later, probably their cavalry, the one JGS are doing is the earlier one with the falcon headed hilt, what do you guys think.

The Kukri and the Falcata can not be compered to each other, were the Kukri is a utility tool as well as a knife, the Falcata was designed for maximum impact so much so that the Romans feared its cutting edge

Ah that one. Yeah I remember starting a thread on it now a month or so back. I liked it cos it was similar to the one used by Alexander the Great but I dont think many of the regulars here fancied it. The decription also confused everyone with its claim of a leather wrapped handle too. JGS - Ya get what ya pay for!
