Looking for help to identify and value swords I have inherited.

Post by de_deej » Wed Apr 18, 2018 3:42 pm

Hi,

I have inherited some swords and I was hoping for some advice as to what they are and what they may be worth as, apart from some knowledge I have gained from this really helpful forum, I really have no idea about them.

I have someone popping over to value them, with a view to making an offer for them all, but I obviously want to achieve the best price possible.

This link will take you to some pictures of the swords in question:

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Mick. ;)
The sabre is illegal to offer for sale in the UK too, it has a single edged curved blade over 50cm

I would give anything for Moon and Mick to come visit me here in the U.S.
You could see all my weapons (guns and blades), I could take you guys out shooting and have a good time.
The stuff I have had access to is mind boggling, I could never tell over an open forum.
Although all regions in the U.S. are not the same, I am sure happy I live in an area with few restrictions.

Having saying that, even here you will find most people have wall hangars just like this gentlemen. Usually only serious collectors, martial artists, SCA members have decent weapon collections.
