Mistake.

Post by michael_collins_2000_ie » Mon Sep 06, 2004 3:58 am

Odd lil mistake ive noticed on an American website, which i wont mention or il get the banhammer. It mentions that theres a koiguchi and kurigata on a GOK and its made of buffalo horn. It actually mentions this of ALL the forged chen series. Weird huh?

Maybe he found it strange as he though it was American buffalo/bison horn and not what it is Water Buffalo Horn?

Loebas has it on the nose! Its just that I thought the Saya was all wood. Now i find that theres actually not only a Koiguchi and a kurigata on the forged swords, but that its made of buffalo horn.

Ahh, now i can see where the confusion is coming from. Horn has a similer grain to wood and they laquer over the whole lot once its put together which can make it hard to see.

You should have an inner section of wood only a mm or two thick and the horn cap around that, being hand made its easyer to see on some swords than others.

My hands are to shakey for decent photo taking today so i outlined the wooden area in red all the section outside that is horn.

Hope that helps.

Get ya morgan, cheers. Didnt know that ya see, which is why i thought the american website was either sexing the sword up (impossible to do with a Gen-1 Oriole if you ask me) or were talking outta their arses.
