new blades damascus lazer print care advice from you experts
i have recently placed order for my first couple of blades from blades uk its been 9 days so far but reading some comments it sounds like it will be worth the wait. I have a knights sword and knights short dagger on way , can some one be kind enough to advise on how best to keep a knife with a Damascus laser print on one of the blades
Thank you in advance

Is laser print Damascus real Damascus be cause I have only heard of acid etched Damascus to bring out the pattern of the multiple layers.
This is my first post and I am a new collector so please be patient.

Been years since I posted advice, but I think laser print Damascus steel is not real Damascus steel.... There is no "real Damascus steel" anymore as the method to the origional has been lost for many years, and cannot be replicated.
The closest we can get is folded steel, that imitates the appearence of the origional.
*patiently awaits correction and stick from moon and mick*

I can't correct something that's right from all that I've read over many years but as the old Japanese proverb goes...

If you believe everything that you read; it is better not to read.

I'm a bit rusty (pun heavily intended) when it comes to my sword knowledge, I'm sure a few weeks here and it will sharpen up!

It's good to see you and Mick are still posting advice, it really warms my heart to see you two are still around.Moon wrote:I can't correct something that's right from all that I've read over many years but as the old Japanese proverb goes...

After all these years and I still cannot find any better than you two, although I see Mick still leaves the heavy hitting to Moon.

I really miss you guys and the old days back on that other forum.

This is why you can never replace BOOKS !Moon wrote:Me too, some really good old boys with a sense of humour and a wealth of knowledge there, now lost forever.Dotanuki2K wrote:I really miss you guys and the old days back on that other forum.
The Internet is worthless for any kind of reliable information as it can be lost or modified for many reasons.
You can keep a book forever, as a information source far more reliable than any thing on the Internet.
