LotR Swords Rusted! Need help!

Post by Demon Soul » Sun Sep 18, 2016 6:18 pm

Hello,

My witchking sword and herugrim are rusted, herugrim is also rather tarnished on the brass parts.

Any advice on how to get rid of this rust? And remove the tarnish?

Thanks in advance.

hi
cant help with the rust??? problem yet but but leave the brass finish as is
as its done that way to make it look aged as for the rust try using a tiny drop
of autosol on a coton bud do not usea lot of pressure as its an abrasive polish
which may leave tiny polished areas on the satin finish of the blade

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Ahh thought herugrim went like that in storage, cheers.

Is it autosol metal polish you mean? Will give it a go anyway.

Cheers,

Demon Soul.

Hello,

Ordered the metal polish the other day, tried baking soda in the meantime and it pretty much worked!

Herugrim still has the visible pitting, guessing there is nothing I can do about that, but its much better than rust anyway.

Cheers.
