Good day!

Good day!
Hello to you all,
I finally ordered a set of throwing knives last night after a long period of contemplating followed by procrastination. If I've learned anything in the last few years, it is that time truly goes by so quickly so that each day must count.
So I thought it made sense to get on the forum and see who else is out there. While I have only ordered throwing knives so far, I have always had a fascination with all things swords, and weapons in general. Particularly older weapons, from East Asian to Scandinavian. I look forward to being a part of the community!

Re: Good day!
Glad to see some posting here again!
I used to be quite good at knife throwing back in the day.
I was once told if you practice enough, you can throw any kind of knife.
I found this to be true.
I found that collecting weapons was probably one of the most satisfying endeavors I have undertaken in my life.
I think Mick here is one of the few that might have more than me, I'm not sure though.
I recently gave some away to younger relatives trying to give them the bug of collecting.
I have friends that keep giving me knives all the time, mostly big folders, other's comemmoritive blades.
Mick, I've got a big folder called an AK knife, it's big like a bayonet and has a big ring like a gunsight where it folds out.
My brother in law picked up a bayonet from a Japanese Arisake rifle from WWII, I was trying to get it from him but he wouldn't part with it. It was beautiful, I'd say about 18 inches long or more, straight single edged blade.

Re: Good day!
hi dot
I may not have as many as I once did but I
have got pretty selective over what I now
collect like the knives from downunder knives
those pieces are so well finished they should cost
a lot more than they do its just a pity that i'll never
be able to get the whole set as the bush dagger is
illeagle over here strange really when you see what
the others are like just take a look at the downunder
mistress bowie as a case in point. as an aside how are
the rest of the guys from across the pond aint heard from
any of them for a good while now not even goose or maynar
damn shame really as I did enjoy our chin wags good to see
yourself moon and mell visit once in a while tho maybe some of the
others will pop in to say hello.

Re: Good day!
Mick,
Sad thing is, I haven't heard from anyone either.
Hasn't been an interest in swords or the martial arts around here lately.
Seems like the only interest people have, is texting or on their cell phones.

Re: Good day!
cell phones yes they can be leathal as one woman over here to her
cost to busey texting to others to take any notice of what go on
around them she walkes right across a level crossing despite the warning
lights and bells ringing gets hit by a train belive it or not dot she actually survives
with minor injuries tell you what some folks have more luck then they deserve

Howdy folks,
I'm glad to say that "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated".
